The 1000 km photo project: Seventeen pictures taken each 1000 km apart.

I realized that over the course of the last 16 years I have been visiting several quite different areas of the globe. This made me decide to make a special cross section of the 28000 pictures that I have taken over the years: a set with as special property that any pair of pictures selected from the set are always taken at more than 1000 km distance from each other. The final result: 17 pictures, representing 17 completely separate circles of 500 km radius or 13.4 million square kilometers of the earth's surface, under 3%. I still have a long way to go!

Rather than posting all 17 pictures here, I added a page to my main web site. Go view them there.

How far do you get if you try a 1000 km photo project yourself? Leave a comment below! If you point me to a similar series of pictures you took, I will add a reference to your list on my site.
